With more than 500 general agents, SANLAM Maroc has the most expansive exclusive network in Morocco, which enables it to have a very strong regional presence and to develop its proximity policy with all its clients to the greatest extent possible.
Since October 2018, SANLAM Maroc is a subsidiary of the SANLAM Group, the number one insurance group in Africa, listed on the JSE Limited (Johannesburg Stock Exchange) and on the Namibian Stock Exchange.
The presence of Sanam Holding Group in the mass-distribution sector is provided through the company Retail Holding, which controls the Casablanca Stock Exchange-listed company Label’Vie, through which it operates the Carrefour, Carrefour Gourmet, Carrefour Market, Carrefour Premium, Atacadao and Supeco chains and more than 100 stores.
2009 was an important year for Label’Vie, because it signed an exclusive franchise agreement with the French group Carrefour.
This partnership enabled it to take advantage of all the expertise of Carrefour at the international level, as well as to gain the exclusive distribution of its products in all Carrefour Market stores and Carrefour hypermarkets in Morocco.
The company Retail Holding also holds the exclusive license to develop Virgin Megastores in the Maghreb.
The business also operates, through its subsidiaries, the Kiabi and Burger King chains in Morocco. In the Ivory Coast, Retail Holding controls 100% of the company CDCI, which has more than 150 wholesale, semi-wholesale and retail stores.
As part of its niching strategy, the Group decided not to keep certain lines within its core business – namely, the traditional real estate development line – in order to focus exclusively on the conception, realization and management of high value-added programs relating to major shopping centers in the Kingdom’s principal cities.
Aradei Capital is now the Moroccan leader in Commercial Real Estate.
